What causes aircraft paint oxidation?
Sun exposure, altitude, and time all break down clear coat and paint finishes over years of flying and tie-down storage, leaving a chalky, dull surface.
Can oxidized paint always be restored?
Most oxidation responds well to machine polishing. Severity varies by aircraft — send photos and ST6 will give you an honest assessment before quoting.
Should I get ceramic coating after correction?
It's a good idea. Coating locks in the corrected finish and slows the return of oxidation, but it's optional and quoted separately.
