Exterior Service Tiers

Three tiers. No confusion.

Each tier increases the depth of correction. Most boats fall into Tier 1 or 2 — Tier 3 handles severe oxidation.

Fiberglass gel coat behaves differently than automotive paint — it oxidizes fast under constant sun and water exposure, turning chalky and dull within a season or two of neglect. The tier you need depends on how long it's been since the hull was last corrected; each card below spells out exactly which condition it's built for.

Tier 01

Wash & Protect

$12.50 / linear ft
25 ft boat · est. $313
⏳ Same-Day Service
  • Hand wash & rinse
  • Non-skid scrub
  • Vinyl UV protectant
  • Spray sealant finish

Best for: Boats washed regularly through the season with no visible chalking or oxidation.

Tier 02

Polish & Seal

$15.63 / linear ft
25 ft boat · est. $391
⏳ Same-Day Service
  • Everything in Tier 01
  • Single-stage DA polish
  • Light oxidation removal
  • Marine sealant protection

Best for: Hulls that have gone a full season or more without polishing and are starting to look dull.

Tier 03 · Severe

Heavy Correction

$24.41 / linear ft
25 ft boat · est. $610
⏳ Multi-Step Service
  • Multi-stage cut & polish
  • Heavy compound + rotary
  • Severe oxidation removal
  • Full surface correction

Best for: Chalky, visibly oxidized gel coat that needs to be corrected before ceramic coating will bond.

Common Boat Detailing Questions

How do I know which exterior tier I need?

Wipe your hand across the hull in direct sunlight. If it stays clean, Tier 1 keeps it that way. If chalk transfers to your hand, you need Tier 2 or Tier 3 depending on how heavy the buildup is — send photos and we'll confirm before you book.

Can you detail the boat at the marina or on the trailer?

Yes — we come to Lake Pueblo, Rampart Reservoir, your marina slip, or your own driveway with a trailered boat. We're fully mobile and insured to work wherever the boat is parked.

Does correction fix chalky gel coat permanently?

Correction removes the existing oxidation, but gel coat will oxidize again over time without protection. That's why we recommend sealant or ceramic coating right after correction to slow the return of chalking.

Boat Interior Detailing

Interior clean as the exterior.

A boat interior takes what a car interior never does — sunscreen, fish residue, bait, mold from trapped moisture, and vinyl baking in direct sun all season.

Trapped moisture is the real enemy of a boat interior — bilge areas, storage compartments, and carpeted decks stay damp long after the boat's out of the water, which is exactly the environment mold and mildew need to take hold. Each tier below is scoped to a different stage of that problem.

Tier 01

Basic Interior Clean

$12.50 / linear ft
⏳ Same-Day Service
  • Full steam clean, hull interior & compartments
  • Carpet & non-skid deck scrub

Best for: Routine end-of-season or pre-trip interior refresh with no odor or mold issues.

Tier 02

Detail & Condition

$15.63 / linear ft
⏳ Same-Day Service
  • Everything in Tier 01
  • Vinyl conditioning & UV protection

Best for: Boats with vinyl seating that's starting to fade, crack, or feel stiff from sun exposure.

Tier 03

Deep Interior Restore

$19.53 / linear ft
⏳ Extended Visit
  • Everything in Tier 02
  • Mold & mildew treatment — eliminates odor at the source

Best for: Interiors with a musty smell or visible mold in compartments after storage or trapped moisture.

Gtechniq Ceramic Coating · Marine Grade

Protect your boat for years, not months.

Marine ceramic coating isn't the same as automotive. Boats face direct water contact, UV from above and below, and temperature swings that break down inferior coatings fast.

Marine-Grade Gtechniq Coating

As Gtechniq accredited applicators, we prep the surface correctly — full decontamination, correction, panel wipe — before a single drop goes on. The result bonds at the molecular level and lasts years, not months. Starting at $1,200, final quote confirmed after inspection.

Gtechniq Accredited Installer

Not just trained. Accredited.

20+ Years of Experience. Professionally Trained. Gtechniq Accredited.

Boat owners need to know who's touching the gel coat before correction or coating work starts. Inspection, decontamination, correction, application technique, leveling, and cure procedure all determine the result — a premium coating installed incorrectly is still an incorrectly installed coating. ST6 is the only Gtechniq Accredited Installer serving Colorado Springs and El Paso County.

Our Process

Matched to what the surface actually needs.

Marine gel coat oxidizes differently than automotive paint — it's thicker, more porous, and reacts harder to UV at altitude.

01

Hand Wash + Scum Line Removal

Marine-safe wash, waterline treatment, non-skid scrub, and full rinse.

02

Clay Bar Decontamination

Removes mineral deposits, algae residue, and embedded lake contaminants from gel coat pores, when needed.

03

Machine Polish

DA for light oxidation. Rotary and heavy compound for severe. Wet sanding on the worst sections.

04

Sealant or Ceramic Coating

Locks in the restoration. Gtechniq accredited ceramic coating lasts 3–5 years on marine surfaces.

Frequently Asked

Boat Detailing Questions

Clear answers before you book.

How much does boat detailing cost in Colorado Springs?

Starting at $12.50/ft — a 25 ft boat starts around $313 for Wash & Protect. Polish & Seal runs $15.63/ft, Heavy Correction $24.41/ft. Interior service is priced separately by the foot, and booking both exterior and interior unlocks a 10% bundle discount. Ceramic coating starts at $1,200. Use the calculator above for your exact estimate.

Do you detail boats at Lake Pueblo and Rampart Reservoir?

Yes — mobile service directly to your dock, marina slip, or storage lot. We serve Lake Pueblo, Rampart Reservoir, Eleven Mile Reservoir, Antero Reservoir, and Pueblo Reservoir.

Can severe boat gel coat oxidation be restored?

In most cases yes, unless the gel coat has worn completely through or is crazed. We use rotary correction, heavy compound, and wet sanding on the most severe cases, and always run a test panel first.

What boat brands and hull types do you detail?

All brands, including MasterCraft, Sea Ray, Malibu, Cobalt, Chaparral, Supra, Moomba, Heyday, Tracker, and Lund. All hull types: fiberglass gel coat, painted hull, and aluminum. Ski boats, wake boats, pontoons, fishing boats, bowriders, and deck boats.

How often should I detail my boat in Colorado?

Once per season minimum for boats stored outdoors. Colorado's altitude accelerates UV damage, so boats oxidize faster than at lower elevations. A Gtechniq ceramic coating after correction extends protection to 3–5 years.

What's the difference between a DA and rotary polisher?

A dual-action (DA) polisher is safer and ideal for light to moderate oxidation. A rotary polisher cuts more aggressively and is required for severe oxidation. Knowing which to use, and when to switch, is what separates a proper correction from surface damage.
