What does C5 Wheel Armour protect against?
It's a dedicated ceramic coating for wheels that resists brake dust buildup and makes wheels far easier to clean between washes — wheels take more abuse than paint and benefit from their own coating.
Does a 9-year coating mean 9 years with no maintenance?
No coating eliminates washing entirely, but Crystal Serum Ultra is built to maintain its hydrophobic performance and gloss over that span with normal care, rather than degrading within a season or two like an uncoated finish.

Every vehicle is washed, clayed, and evaluated under lighting so we know exactly what the paint needs before anything else happens.

Included on every package. The finish is polished and corrected to remove swirls, oxidation, and haze before coating goes on.

Where people get confused: both make the paint look great immediately. The difference shows up over time — wax sits on top and breaks down in 6 to 8 weeks, while ceramic coating chemically bonds to the clear coat and holds its beading, gloss, and UV protection for years, not weeks. Wax is fine for someone who enjoys reapplying it every couple months. Ceramic coating is for someone who wants that protection to just be there.

Why is the Ultra 9-Year package in-shop only?
Crystal Serum Ultra is the most demanding install in the lineup — it needs a clean, controlled, dust-free environment to cure correctly, so unlike some of our other packages it is not offered as a mobile appointment.
Can Ceramic Coating be applied mobile?
Some packages can be applied in a clean garage when conditions are right. The Ultra 9-Year package is in-shop only — outdoor wind, dust, direct sun, or cold temperatures aren't good coating conditions.
How long does Ceramic Coating take?
A simple coating application can be same-day. Coating plus deeper Paint Correction can take longer because the finish has to be cleaned, corrected, prepped, applied, and inspected before pickup.
Does Ceramic Coating stop scratches?
No. Ceramic Coating isn't scratch-proof. It helps with gloss, UV exposure, chemical resistance, contaminant release, and easier washing — safe washing habits still matter.
How much does Ceramic Coating cost?
Packages start at $899 for the 3-Year and range up to $1,599 for the Ultra 9-Year bundle. Starting prices are for a standard sedan — larger vehicles, trucks, and SUVs are quoted after inspection.
How long does Ceramic Coating actually last?
It depends on the package: 1 year for EXO, 3 years for our 3-Year package, 5 years for Crystal Serum Light, and up to 9 years for Crystal Serum Ultra. Real-world longevity also depends on how the vehicle is stored and washed.
When can I wash my car after Ceramic Coating?
We recommend waiting a full 7 days before washing so the coating fully cures and reaches maximum hardness. You can drive the vehicle during that period — just avoid washing it unless it's covered in something like bird droppings or road salt.
Do I still need to wash my car after it's Ceramic Coated?
Yes. Ceramic Coating makes washing faster and reduces how much contamination bonds to the paint, but it isn't maintenance-free — regular washing is still part of keeping the coating and the finish underneath it protected.
Is the Ceramic Coating warranty transferable if I sell the vehicle?
No. Gtechniq's guarantee is registered to the original vehicle and owner at the time of application and is non-transferable.
